Crystallized Gold
El Álamo district, Baja California, México
This dramatic gold crystal originated from a very rare locality and often unheard of. What adds to its uniqueness are the sharp well defined crystallization which is rarely seen with gold specimens from Mexico. The crystal morphology on the front side developed slightly dendritic branches of native gold that formed due to a void that left the gold hollowed out with gold crystals sticking outwards. Its reverse side displays its modified cubic structure with clustered native gold crystal clusters. Its overall shape is very aesthetic and crystalized all around. The native gold crystal is a rich buttery yellow color with good luster. This gold specimen is a great representation from its locality.
