This incredible gold specimen displays complex crystal habits with unique character patterns on its surface. Its crystal morphology exhibits stepped formations called hoppered or chevron crystals with sharp angular edges on its ends. Many textured and geometric crystals are formed on its surface as secondary growth as well. On the reverse side the gold developed larger hoppered crystals showing a robust character on each stepped crystal. The hoppered crystal effect created a hollow effect with each crystal forming deeper inside the gold crystal with secondary micro crystal growth on some of the hoppered crystals.
