Crystallized Gold
El Álamo district, Baja California, México
This remarkable gold specimen showcases intricate crystal habits with distinctive character patterns adorning its surface. Its crystal morphology features two primary crystals branching outward, accompanied by numerous formations known as hoppered or chevron crystals, which exhibit sharply angled edges at their tips. The surface also hosts a variety of textured and geometric secondary growth crystals. On the reverse side, the gold reveals larger hoppered crystals, each stepped formation displaying a bold, robust character. The slightly longer secondary crystal further exhibits delicately formed micro-crystals at its lower end, enhancing the specimen’s intricacy and establishing it as an exceptional micromount crystal.
