This rare native gold crystal is from one of California’s most well-known gold mines. The Colorado Quartz Mine produced and sometimes still produces the best examples of world class crystallized gold specimens. This example here is a highly lustrous thick leaf like gold specimen with flat plates of reflective gold faces. The gold specimen also exhibits smaller crystals branching out with the perfect amount of surrounding quartz matrix, which preserves the crystallized gold and its aesthetics.
