Crystalline Gold
980' Level - Kensington Mine, Berners Bay, South East Alaska
Here is an extraordinary and rare native gold specimen is incredibly difficult to obtain and almost none are available from this mine to collectors. The mine usually does not produce rich native gold deposit such as this example which is an unusual exception. This specimen was collected in 1993 by K. Dotson along with other specimens from the same 980 foot level of the mine. The specimen displays rich saturation of yellow color and great luster. Its native gold structure is leaf like growth habits and has flat highly lustrous faces.
