This complex crystalline native gold specimen was found in Georgetown, California. Georgetown is a census-designated town in El Dorado County. It was discovered after a bush fire cleared out a quartz vein which had a rich gold occurring deposit visible only to a metal detector. The aesthetics of this native gold is quite appealing as it can be displayed on either side and mostly shines its lustrous surface back at you at every angle.
