Crystalline Gold

This rare locality specimen from Georgetown, California is chunky and crystalline. The crystalline specimen was discovered by a prospector who was metal detecting near a quartz vein system. The specimen displays a slight reddish surface oxide on the lower area while some areas have very lustrous and complex crystalline growth with many flat mirror-like crystal faces. Its beautiful shape and luster make this specimen a very nice display specimen for the mineral collector.
