Crystalline Gold

This is an older example of a rare gold specimen found in the mid-1980s near the town of Rutherglen, North-Eastern Victoria. The gold is very high in purity and saturation of intense color and luster. The crystalline structure of this specimen is complex with small wire gold formations that branch out in different directions. This locality is now a national park and no prospecting, or any new minerals will be available to mineral collectors.
