Crystalline Gold on Quartz
Kelsey Mining District, El Dorado County 
This incredible specimen displays complex thick leaf crystals of native gold with complex octahedral crystals. The thick crystalline gold is robust and a buttery yellow color spread throughout the quartz matrix. Nearly all the sides of the quartz matrix are laced with native gold veins mostly crystalline while other sections have well developed gold crystals. The middle front section composes of modified crystals of native gold with elongated octahedral habits and display lustrous    flat faces. Gold crystals from this California locality are rare and highly collectable and this example is an exceptional specimen.
