Crystallized Gold

The native gold crystal here displays a unique and very unusual crystal habit. The gold specimen is believed to be a thick wire which has developed into a curved ball on end. There are deep and well-formed striations visible throughout the specimen. These striations have crystallized into short leafy crystals which run from the bottom to its top and finally fuse together at its curved end point. It’s a very interesting specimen and not to mention a rare crystal for its locality. There is a complete secondary crystal branching out from one end with highly complex striations and similar leafy crystal habits.
