Crystallized Gold on Quartz 
Agua Fria, Mariposa, California U.S.A.
This very rich native gold specimen was found near the small town of Agua Fria in Mariposa County. The crystallized gold perched on quartz displays a vibrant color saturation with bright luster which pops out from its matrix. On its top section a uniquely formed cubic limonite crystal is perched on the top section of the native gold. In some areas the gold has developed small modified dendritic crystal which grow in a branching leaf habit. The gold is very chunky and thick, branching out from crevasse within the quartz. The gold runs throughout the matrix with nearly every side displaying brilliant crystals of crystalline gold.
