Crystallized Gold o Quartz
Boise Basin, Idaho
This exceptional gold specimen displays very lustrous crystal faces with sharp angular edges. The crystals on most areas exhibit very blocky habits and large flat faces. The native gold is visible on all sides with robust crystals. Small sections of the native gold have slightly reddish oxidations which are due to iron oxides. The quartz matrix displays a layer of iron oxides which is why its slightly darker than other sections. This rare specimen is a prime example of native gold from its locality.
