Crystallized Gold on Quartz
Round Hill Mine, 750' Level
El Dorado County, California U.S.A.
This very rare gold specimen displays very interesting crystal morphology and is a truly aesthetic gold specimen. Its crystals exhibit thick crystallized growth clustered together form a solid gold in quartz specimen. Nearly every direction of the native gold is a bright buttery yellow color each crystal shining like a gem under sunlight. In some areas the gold developed slightly dendritic crystals branching and overlapping one another. Upon closer examination the gold crystals display intricate striations with also flat micro crystal beside it. Its white quartz matrix provides an excellent contrast to the native gold. This specimen is a great representation for its locality.
