This highly lustrous crystal of native gold displays a complex and highly lustrous crystal habits on both sides of the specimen. The native gold crystal exhibits multi layer growth of stepped crystals that formed into plates of leaf crystals. In the middle of the specimen the native gold specimen has many three dimensional octahedral forming crystals on its leaf crystal surface surrounded by smaller leaf crystals. In some areas of this beautiful specimen triangular crystals called trigons formed on a very lustrous surface. Nearly every section of the crystallized gold sparkles like a gem. This specimen is truly a spectacular example from the Oriental Mine in Sierra County California.
