Crystallized Gold Wire
Placer County, California
This native gold specimen displays a rich concentration of many native gold wire crystals branching out in straight well-defined habits. This native gold is highly unusual for its locality and is a first of its kind. What adds to its beauty is the gold crystals exhibit high luster and rich saturation of color. The red matrix is limonite which is an iron oxide mineral. The reverse side displays much more thicker gold wires near its top section. Both sides are very rich in unusual and rare gold wire crystals and this specimen is a prime example for its locality.
