Crystallized Wire Gold with Limonite
Michigan Bluff, Placer County, California
This native gold specimen features a dense cluster of gold wire crystals branching out in distinct, curved patterns. It is especially uncommon for its locality, making it a unique mineral specimen. The gold crystals exhibit a brilliant luster and intense color saturation, enhancing their appeal. The red matrix surrounding the gold is composed of limonite, an iron oxide mineral. One side of the specimen has thicker gold wires concentrated near the top, while both sides display an abundance of rare and unusual gold wire crystals. This makes the specimen a standout example for its locality.
