Dendritic Gold Leaf Crystal

This highly aesthetic native gold leaf crystal displays dendritic gold crystals branching out from its main crystal which had developed into a naturally curved habit. The leaf gold crystals are three dimensional with wave patterns and beautifully curved features. The base of the crystal has visible striations from when the gold crystal first started forming. The unique aspect about this specimen is it had no matrix attached which is referred to as a "floater". We believe this gold specimen formed in a cavity of mud and sulfides without quartz.
