This impressive specimen is a classic and highly attractive example of gold from the Eagle’s Nest Mine. It features a complex cluster of spinel-law twinned crystals, with sharply defined, highly lustrous geometric forms stacked in a striking, intergrown habit. Clear quartz crystals are nestled between the gold, creating a beautiful and eye-catching contrast. Multiple areas display sharp, elongated, pointed crystals, adding dimension and visual interest alongside the geometric forms. The main gold structure is especially remarkable, extending across the matrix in a bold, three-dimensional form. It begins at the base with subtle projection and rises dramatically, culminating in a sharp, exceptionally lustrous octahedral crystal at the top. This top crystal is particularly noteworthy, forming a thick, three-dimensional, slightly curved octahedral leaf with distinctive surface striations that enhance its character and brilliance.
