The Fortymile is known for its historical gold mining days where rich placer gold was found. This exceptional gold nugget features a saturated lustrous surface with a nice flat elongated shape. Mostly the front surface of the gold nugget is smooth, and some minor textures faces. The reverse side displays a much more textures and robust surface with similar smooth a lustrous surface. The nuggets length makes it a larger specimen for display and is displayable on both sides with equal beauty.  Gold from this locality is seldom available to collectors and this specimen is a prime example for its locality.
