Gold Crystal
Belshazzar Mine, Quartzburg Mining District, Boise County, Idaho, USA
This remarkable gold crystal displays exceptional character with intricate crystal habits of interconnected and overlapping formations. What's unique about this gold crystal are its thick robust dendritic crystal branching and overlapping which then crystallize into cubic geometric shapes on its tips. Smaller very rare wires formations are clustered on its bottom and in between the larger main crystals. Gold specimens from this famous and historical mine are almost never available to the mineral collector. The name Belshazzar was given to the prince of the last king of the Babylonian Empire which is a significant association to the name of this mine.
