Gold Crystal

Ford Mine, Placer County, California, USA

This gold specimen displays striking crystal morphology and absolutely mirror luster. It’s a small specimen but a powerful one with many complex textured surfaces. The gold crystal developed a slightly dendritic structure and both ends display an elongated wire like crystal. Its body developed slightly modified hexagon like shaped plates with multi growth pattern side by side. The long wire on its side also displays intricate branching of smaller wires. Its color is a saturated bright yellow evenly all around. The geometrical crystal habits and intense luster makes this specimen a remarkable representation from its locality.
