Gold specimens with a spongy texture are rarely found with the exceptional qualities seen in this piece. The surface is covered with thousands of tiny micro-crystals and flat crystal plates that strongly reflect light, creating a bright, gem-like sparkle. Some of these reflective plates are larger and span wide areas, producing mirror-like flashes across the surface. The reverse side also displays the same reflective spongy texture and attractive overall character. The specimen is finished with a rich, buttery-gold color that enhances its visual appeal.
