Gold Crystal

Placer County, California

What makes this gold specimen special is its dense complex crystal habits and complex morphology. The gold crystal is a solid specimen and grew as a complete crystal in a mud pocket not attached to any quartz. Its interesting spinel twin crystals start from its pointy bottom tip forming cubic geometric crystals that spreads into larger geometric crystal on its top end. The crystals are cubic and branching on its side with hollowed section on its sides. On its sides section slightly forming chevron crystals are formed also called hoppered crystal habits. The native gold crystal is complete and highly crystallized on all sides. Its color is a worm buttery yellow color and good luster which adds to its already impressive crystal habits.
