Gold Crystal with Caliche

The native gold specimen here is a remarkable representation of crystallized gold from Mexico. Its solid geometric formations and sharp edges makes for a robust crystal with great aesthetics. The gold crystallized into a naturally modified trigon crystal with slightly modified secondary octahedral growth. The gold displays lustrous faces with flat sharp edges and incredible saturation of high purity buttery yellow gold color. Its matrix is a gray colored formation called Caliche which is cemented together by various minerals, mostly being calcium carbonate. This gold specimen is a rare example of native gold with caliche from its locality.
