Gold Crystal with Holes

The gold crystal here is a very unusual specimen from a locality which does not produce specimens with aesthetics such as this example. It was reported the rare native gold was found in a small tributary near Bonanza Creek. It is peppered with circular holes throughout the native gold with interesting crater indents on the outer circumference of the holes. On the reverse side of the specimen still contains a thin layer of the original clay mineral in which it was found. Some areas display very good luster with overall a rich color saturation of golden hue.
