Gold Crystal
Sonora, Mexico
This gold nugget, discovered in the arid Sonora Desert, is an exceptionally rare locality native mineral, often unattainable for collectors. Originating from the same deposit mined by the ancient Aztecs and Spanish Conquistadors for currency, jewelry, and other valuables, this specimen was found by a local prospector in a rich ancient riverbed. The gold nugget features a vibrant, lustrous surface with robust textures and a complex crystallization. Upon closer examination secondary growth microcrystals are on its flat surfaces. Its side features heavy rounded dendritic crystals with quartz in between the branching crystals. Its bright yellow color makes it an exemplary specimen from this locality.
