Complex Crystalline Gold Specimen Bald Mountain, Sonora District, Tuolumne County, California. Uncommonly large formation of lustrous yellow-metallic native gold crystals. Several large flat gold crystal are visible in a recessed area. Note the hexagonally shaped void where the gold grew around quartz. The large hole running through the crystalline gold displays multiple smaller crystals growth within. It's simply difficult to get all the aesthetics in one shot. Viewing the specimen at various angles gives a different perspective each time of the complex crystalline structure it possesses. 26.11 grams. Overall size: 32.4 x 25.70 x 24 mm. |
