This extraordinary gold nugget, discovered in the dry Sonora Desert, is an exceptionally rare native mineral, highly coveted by collectors. It comes from the same deposit that supplied gold to the ancient Aztecs and Spanish Conquistadors for currency, jewelry, and other valuables. A local prospector unearthed this specimen in a rich, ancient riverbed. The nugget features a vibrant, shiny surface with distinct textures and a complex structure. It is dense and solid, with clear, rounded crystal separations. Its bright yellow hue, combined with a very thin layer of reddish iron oxide, and its extremely high gold purity from this area make it an exceptional specimen.
