Gold on Limonite

This incredible specimen is a very unique crystal that displays an unusual formation on the surface called slick and slide. This occurs when two fault lines rub against each other flattening the gold. This is why we see a flatter area in the middle and beautiful crystal on its sides. Some crystals developed into flat octahedral crystals together with wires with good luster. Gold specimens from this classic and historical locality are extremely coveted, and this example is a remarkable geological example
