Gold on Quartz 
Placerville Mining District, El Dorado County, California 
This unique gold specimen features a rich saturation of native gold on an oxidized quartz matrix from a historical mining district in California. The gold features slightly dendritic gold crystals branching out from the oxidized quartz matrix. The gold travels through there matric and pops out on the reverse side as well. The darker brown oxidation on the quartz is iron oxide and makes for a appealing contrast with the yellow native gold. On every side the rich buttery yellow gold is visible and in some section of the surface display good luster.
