Gold Wire on Lead Iron Matrix

Farncomb Hill, French Gulch, Breckenridge Mining District, Summit County, Colorado, USA

This exceptional wire gold specimen presents a dense and thick interwoven crystals, forming a beautifully compact and highly intricate three-dimensional structure. Each wire exhibits a saturated, buttery-yellow hue with good luster that glows under direct light. Careful examination reveals fine secondary smaller wire cluster growth along the sides of the wires, with subtle textures that sparkle when viewed in sunlight. The reverse side is equally striking, featuring thick, robust wires that curve and overlap in bold, complex growth patterns rarely seen in specimens of this size. Its darker mineral attached to its wires are composition of iron and lead infused to form cubic crystals structures which is very unusual and interesting. True wire gold of this caliber and especially from this historic locality has become exceedingly scarce, making this a highly desirable piece for the mineral collector.
