This increasingly rare specimen from the Red Lake Mine is becoming very hard to come by. The main reason is because the mine under new ownership no longer does specimen recovery. Instead the ore is crushed up and processed for bullion grade gold. This fantastic specimen of native gold displays delicate reflective leaf crystals. The specimen additionally exhibits well crystallized thicker gold crystals on the lower portion. The geologic processes that occurred were by hydrothermal deposition of fluid gold hundreds of thousands of years ago producing one of the richest gold deposit in Canada.
