Native Gold

Kensington Mine, Berners Bay, Alaska U.S.A.

This fascinating and exquisite specimen of gold, which was extracted from the Kensington Mine, boasts an impressive array of unique features that set it apart from other native gold specimens. The most striking of these features is the highly crystallized structure of the gold, which has formed into beautiful, lustrous sponge crystals that culminate in sharp, pointed tips. The native gold crystal is adorned with a high color saturation of the yellow metal with thousands of secondary growth native gold micro crystals adds to its complex aesthetics. The lustrous textures surfaces on both sides makes this specimen a great representation of crystalline gold from Alaska.
