Gold
Malartic Hygrade Mine, Malartic, La Vallée-de-l'Or RCM, Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Québec, Canada
This is an exceptionally rich Canadian gold specimen, especially rare from a large-scale mining operation where pieces of this quality are seldom preserved. The gold crystal is remarkably dense and chunky, showing lustrous, slightly geometric crystal habit. Within its cavities, complex hollowed spaces reveal layered gold crystals growing inward, adding depth and visual interest. The gold sparkles like a gemstone, displaying an intensely rich, warm yellow color throughout. Because specimens like this are typically destroyed and refined for industrial use, the survival of such a superb example from this rare locality makes it a truly special addition for any serious gold collector.
