Native Gold on Quartz Matrix

This remarkable gold sample exhibits a brilliant shine and an impressive intensity of color. The gold forms an intricate three-dimensional crystal structure intertwined with a quartz matrix. The native gold developed clusters of mostly leaflike crystals spread out through the white quartz. Nearly all sides the crystalline gold is visible.
