Native Gold on Quartz
Sonora, Mexico 
The native gold specimen developed rick gold veins of crystallized leafy crystals with robust crystalline gold clusters. The gold is visible on both sides of the specimen making it very rich and dense. Its white quartz matrix makes for a great contrast with the crystallized gold. Some crystals on its top end display three dimensional leaf clusters with sharp angled positions. Under magnification the mesh of crystallized gold is intriguing and complex incredible crystal morphology. Gold specimens from Mexico are extremely rare and not often available to mineral collectors.
