This sharp, cubic crystal is solid native platinum, from perhaps the single most famous locality in the world for finely crystallized platinum specimens - the Konder area in Russia. These crystals came out in the 1990s when the Russian government officially started to allow export of natural platinum from this region. The platinum crystal also displays native areas of native gold. gold with platinum are very rare combination and this specimen still displays its lustrous surface.
