Wire Gold Cluster
Belshazzar Mine, Boise County, Idaho
This exceptional specimen is a rare example of native gold crystallizing into a dense cluster of thick, intertwined wire crystals. Adding to its rarity, the gold displays remarkable epimorph crystals forming hollow geometric formations that developed after the original quartz crystals eroded away, preserving their crystal shape in gold. A prominent, heavy wire crystal extends almost 1 cm on the top of the specimen, creating a striking focal point. Wire crystals of this thickness and size are exceptionally uncommon in nature, making this an outstanding example of crystallized gold. Both the front and back are richly covered with intricate wire formations, with several crystals displaying bright reflective faces that shimmer beautifully under light. The gold's rich, saturated buttery yellow color further enhances its visual impact and highlights the intricate crystal growth. Its exceptional wire crystal development, rare epimorph formations, outstanding color, and impressive aesthetics, makes this a premier specimen and one of the finest representations from its locality.
