This beautiful wire gold specimen looks very similar to wire gold found in the Liberty mine in Washington. However, this specimen is an exceptional one mainly because of its locality. Grass Valley is not unually known for producing wire gold, although, on rare occasions like this example you will find wire native gold specimens from this local. The complex intricate complete wires of native gold are displayed throughout the whole specimen of rich yellow native gold. The specimen displays microwires near the base and as you move to the top the native gold wires seem to get larger and thicker. Very similar to how to native silver wires grow. The native wire gold specimen was purchased around 1900's for $22.50 by a collector which now recently ended up in our hands. This incredibly rare wire gold specimen will make a beautiful display in a museum or collection.
