Wire Gold on Quartz and Limonite

This impressive gold specimen displays a very rare formation of natural native gold - wire gold. Wire gold is so rare that only a small handful of localities in the world are produce this type of gold. The Dixie Mine is one of these exertional locations where wire gold is found. The gold exhibits bright and thick wires that bend and twist with smaller thinner wire gold crystals surrounding its main larger wire gold mass, held together on its gray quartz matrix. There are more gold crystals on its lower section on the quartz matrix which connects to its main section of thick gold wires. This historical mine is a must have for the mineral collector and this specimen is a prime example for the locality.
